Legacy Essays

Please note(!) the dates on these essays before thinking they represent what I currently believe!

  • ANS Reset hacks - as a PDF and as an ePUB
  • Sitting in a chair for 30 years
  • Body Integration exercises, Positive Body Awareness and notes on Central sensitisation are pre-Cambrian ancestors of this online book
  • Two essays - about connective tissue (fascia) and Muscles based loosely around Gerald Pollack's Cells, Gels and the Engines of Life
  • An essay on Mirror Neurons - also see brief notes on Mirror Neurons
  • The debate between Paul Grossman and Stephen Porges (something that is largely a xenophoboia of small differences that can only exist in scientific opinions and religious wars) has recently (2026) exploded in everyone's face, and there are several attempts to reconcile the issue without throwing out any babies with the bathwater. The conceptual gaps in PolyVagal Theory have been visible and debated with somewhat less (but not zero) blood being spilled for well over a decade. I wrote this essay as I started to diverge from PolyVagal (and any other neurological model) to focus on the processes of communication / biosemiotics.
  • Notes on a re-framed model of SBS motion (or more precisely, notes on how SBS motion is a “send three and fourpence, we're going to a dance” misunderstanding of Magoun and Sutherrland) can be found linked from my professional workshop page
